Am I an Ex-Pat?

Today's Strib has an article about Minnesotans living abroad, referring to them as expats. In my ignorance, I never liked that word, so I referred to the omniscient Wikipedia which kindly offerred the following definition:

An expatriate (in abbreviated form expat) is someone temporarily or permanently in a country and culture other than that of their upbringing and/or legal residence. The word comes from the Latin ex (out of) and patria (country), and is sometimes misspelt as ex-patriot, due to its pronunciation.

So it isn't "expatriot," but rather "expatriate." I feel better already.
