Seven Minutes of Coasting

I finally downloaded the Polar data from last weeks Sviland ride. Here is a nice seven minute stretch of coasting, and these are not even real mountains. The trouble seems to be that going up, I end up sweating and almost overheating, then freezing from the windchill riding down.

These graphs must only mean something to fellow fixed gear riders. They prick my curiosity in relationship to fitness, VO2 levels etc.

Working at the county today so I'm able to catch up on your entries. It's cold here, high in the low 20's and snow in the morning of about an inch or so. Too soon for permanent snow cover so I imagine that if we're lucky there will be enough of a warmup in a couple of weeks or so that it'll be gone; of course there's always that January thaw that we've gotten in most recent years, none too soon for me, I need to move.
