Nobody Locks Their Bikes Around Here

Do I really need a Kryptonite NYC3000 U-Lock around here? I feel like a freak here, since nobody else locks their bike to anything. If they bother to lock their bike, they usually use a pin that locks the rear wheel through the spokes (and it just stands on its kickstand- cant be ridden, but easily carried off).

I feel like an overprotective freak around here...

Yep, lock it to something if you can, while living in Europe I have never bought a new bike because I had a new bike itch but because my old one was gone. Also I think your Norwegian homeowners insurance will only cover your bike if it has been locked with two independent lock (not sure though, so ask around)

Yes! Lock your bike whenever you aren't with it. Many thefts are crimes of opportunity. If your bike is locked and the ones around you aren't, most likely it will be the other bike that is taken.
Oh, and thanks for choosing Kryptonite! We appreciate it!
Safe riding.
