I have noticed this in many places, that people seem to stunt their trees to make them ornamental. I think it is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. Imagine taking a tree, and cutting off its branches, like is often done before a tree is completely removed. Except it is left as a vertical pole, until little tiny branches start growing from the trunk. Eventually you will have a 4 meter high "stick" that is at least a foot in diameter with a few leaves popping off the top. I don't understand this. I see it everywhere.
